BBW Knighthood

trainspot

The Knighthood of the Brewers’ Paddle (Belgian brewers’ Guild) is the direct descendant of the secular Guild of Brewers and continues to respect the traditions and nobility of the brewers’ trade as developed over the centuries.

Faithful to their traditions, every year in September the Belgian brewers pay respect to the patron saint of the brewers, Saint Arnould, during the Belgian Beer Weekend in Brussels. At this occasion new knights by rights and honorary knights are "enthroned". Honorary knights are individuals who have rendered loyal services to the brewing profession. The knights by rights are active members of the Brotherhood who, owing to their profession, birth or alliance, are closely related to the brewing industry.

The Managing Partners of trainspot, Jan De Bock & Malik Kusters, were enthroned in September 2015 as Honorary Knights as a token of appreciation for their work for Belgian beer in Japan.
