The Belgians are world famous for quite a few things! Chocolates, beers, diamonds, waffles, road racing, Manneken Pis, ... But what is equally world famous, is the Belgians’ passion for fries. Fries are even so serious that the Belgian government recognised the fritkot as an intangible cultural heritage in January 2014. Since the very first Belgian Beer Weekend in Japan in 2010, fries have always been on the menu, selling like "hot cakes".
Because the Belgian “fritkot” culture is not existing in Japan, we decided to develop “fritkot” for the Japanese market. A full-package fritkot shop concept is being kept safe in our magic drawer!
